2017 Community Development Block Grant – Critical Infrastructure
Holmes County will be applying to the State of Ohio Development Services Agency for funding under the 2017 Community Development Block Grant Program. Funding shall be requested as a critical infrastructure grant. On June 12th, 2017, the County conducted the first public hearing to inform citizens about the CDBG grant, how it may be used, what activities are eligible, and other program requirements.
Based on citizen input, including the local officials’ assessment of the County’s needs, the County is proposing to undertake the following activity for 2017 Grant. This project is eligible under the CDBG National Objective by addressing infrastructure needs a population within the corporate limits of the Village of Glenmont. The population has been determined through an income survey to be greater than 51% low and moderate income.
Activities: Village of Glenmont Storm Sewer Replacement – The storm sewer replacement project will include: (1) removal of structures and obstructions, (2) 300 feet of 18” storm sewer, (3) 2,100 feet of 15” storm sewer, (4) 700 feet of 12” storm sewer, (5) existing storm sewer reconnection, (6) multiple catch base and manhole installs as needed. Administration shall be 20,000. Total grant request shall be $300,000.
The second public hearing will be held on July 6th, at 10:30AM at Holmes County Commissioner’s meeting room, 2 Court St., Millersburg, Ohio to give citizens the opportunity to review and comment on the County’s proposed CDBG allocation proposals.
