Drinking Water Consumer Confidence Report for 2018 – Holmes County Jail
The Holmes County Jail recieves its drinking water from well. This well is located behind the jail. We treat for iron and manganese removal, soften, and add chlorine for disinfection.
Ohio EPA completed a study of the Holmes County Jail’s source of drinking water, to identify potential containment sources, and provide guidance on protecting the drinking water source.
Memorial Day
Due to the Memorial Day Holiday, the Holmes County Commissioners will not be meeting Monday, May 27, 2019. The next regularly scheduled Business meeting for the Board will be Thursday, May 30, 2019.
Bed Tax Grant 2019
BED TAX GRANT PROGRAM
Application Available: Monday, April 22, 2019 8:30 a.m.
Application Due: Wednesday May 22, 2019 4:00 p.m.
The applications will be available on Monday April 22, 2019 at 8:30 a.m. at the Commissioner’s Office. The applications will be due at the Commissioner’s Office on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. These dollars shall be spent to improve tourism in accordance with the Ohio Revised Code.
This will be a non-reimbursable grant so long as the project specified is completed. The time frame to spend down the funds will be six (6) months. Upon award of the grant and signing an agreement, the Commissioner’s will pay the organization the lump sum of money. The agreement will be simply stated as to responsibilities of the organization and the county. A follow up report will be required to the county to show that the money was spent on the specified project and the results that were hoped for. These records will be kept for state audit purposes to show that the bed tax monies are being spent as required.
The restriction on the funding request will be no salary is to be paid solely by the grant.
The Commissioner’s do reserve the right to make changes in the policy as may be needed. Any questions may be directed to the Commissioner’s Office at 330-674-0286.
In case of a tie, the person or group that has submitted their application the earliest will be the one awarded the grant money.

Request for Qualifications
Ohio Regional Development Corporation (ORDC), on behalf of Holmes County Commissioners, is requesting statements of qualifications from qualified firms for professional architectural services relating to the rehabilitation of Millersburg downtown buildings. Project funded by State of Ohio Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program B-F-18-1BI-1. Work will include assistance with project selection, private rehabilitation specification prep in accordance with Village of Millersburg DRB Design Review Standards, construction document preparation including federal prevailing wage, bid and award support, construction administration, and post construction. Response will be due no later than March 29, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. to Stacy Clapper, ORDC, 200 Main St-Annex Bldg, Coshocton, OH 43812.

2019 HOLMES COUNTY MITIGATION PLAN
The Holmes County Emergency Management Agency (HCEMA), along with its various community partners, have been working on updating the county’s Hazard Mitigation Plan which is designed to mitigate the damage caused by natural disasters. A draft of the updated plan will be made available on the county’s website for review by the community. Those interested in commenting on the draft before it is sent to Ohio Emergency Management Agency (OEMA) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for approval are welcomed to attend a public meeting held October 22nd at 10:00AM at 2 Court Street in Millersburg. The Board of Commissioners for Holmes County, Ohio is accepting qualifications from design-build firms for its Courthouse Clock Tower Rehabilitation Project. Request an RFQ from Christopher Young, P.E., P.S., Criteria Engineer, at cryoung@holmesengineer.org . Qualifications will be accepted until 10:00 a.m. on February 3rd, 2020.
