2016 Community Development Block Grant – Allocation Program
Holmes County will be applying to the State of Ohio Development Services Agency for funding under the 2016 Community Development Block Grant Program. Funding shall be requested as an allocation grant. On April 21, 2016, the County conducted the first public hearing to inform citizens about the CDBG grant, how it may be used, what activities are eligible, and other program requirements.
Based on citizen input, including the local officials’ assessment of the County’s needs, the County is proposing to undertake the following activities for 2016 Grant. These projects are eligible under the CDBG National Objective by addressing infrastructure needs for a limited clientele of residents served by the Holmes County Home.
Activities: Holmes County Home Restroom Facility Renovation – The county home restroom renovation shall include the removal of existing floor tile and sub floor, install masonry foundations and beams under existing steel floor joists for leveling and support. Toilets shall be replaced with commercial grade units with handicapped accessibility. Water lines shall be replaced with Pex. New sub floor, ceramic tile and drywall repair as needed shall be included. Estimated cost for this project is $72,800. Fair housing and administration shall be $18,200. Estimated total project cost for the above project is $72,800. Fair housing and administration shall be $18,200.
The second public hearing will be held on June 2, 2016 at 9AM at Holmes County Commissioner’s meeting room, 2 Court St., Millersburg, Ohio to give citizens the opportunity to review and comment on the County’s proposed CDBG allocation proposals.
