FY 2017
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
The Holmes County Commissioners will be holding the first of two public hearings concerning the FY’2017 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Critical Infrastructure Program on June 12th, 2017 at 10:30AM for Community Development Implementation Strategy (CDIS) and 10:45AM for CDBG Critical Infrastructure funds in the Holmes County Commissioner’s Office, in the Old Jail Office Building at 2 Court Street, Millersburg, Ohio. The CDBG Program provides Critical Infrastructure funds to counties and cities throughout Ohio to assist the development of public improvement and other projects which primarily benefit persons of low-and-moderate income (LMI) households.
The purpose of the initial hearing is to explain CDBG programs to local jurisdictions and the general public and to solicit public input and project proposals to be included in the County’s application(s) for funding. Additionally, the public will have an opportunity to review the CDIS and to assist the Commissioners in planning the use of CDBG funds over a 2 year time period.
Holmes County is eligible to apply for 2 separate projects up to $300,000 for FY 2017 under the CDBG Critical Infrastructure program. Projects require a minimum 10% match to be eligible. Eligible projects may include: roads, storm sewer, curbing, and other critically failing public facilities. The application is due in Columbus July 14, 2017. All Ohio CDBG Programs are administered by the Ohio Office of Community Development.
Additional information about the CDBG Programs may be obtained by contacting the Commissioners’ Office or Arnold Oliver at the Holmes County Planning Commission, 2 Court St., Millersburg, OH 44654 330-674-8625. The second hearing is scheduled for June 22nd, 2017 at 9:30AM in the Commissioners’ office at 2 Court Street in Millersburg.
